The sheer amount of background work you put into all three of your characters is absolutely incredible! Other people have said that it's hard to believe you're writing all three of them because they're so different from each other, but the major commonality between them is how much they're a product of their worlds and social circles. I don't just feel like I know Magnus, Susan, and Kade; I feel like I'm getting to know everyone from their stories. All those glancing bits of characterization are every bit as compelling as your actual characters, and that's an astounding accomplishment. <3333

s!!! i'm so happy we're pals and so happy you're here. all of your characters are so real and realized but i also love how much that doesn't prevent you from veering into rule of funny whenever the mood strikes—especially because you're SO funny. i'm so compelled by all of your characters, even though i don't know two thirds of them—magnus is so important to me now and I'm adoring getting to know kade. i'm obsessed with your take on susan, because i think with her you have a kind of unique challenge—transposing a deeply underwritten character into a space where many of her defining characteristics (her grief, her analytical mind) are extensions of her canon but not actually focused on within it. i just find it so impressive.

Erin!!! I have so much admiration for your EASE of characterization. you're always so quick on the draw, like these guys really are just living in your brain and you just let them take over for a second. even in the moments where your replies are longer or demand research or tackle things WILDLY out of the puppet's frame of reference it always seems to flow so perfectly for you, despite how distinct each of them are. It's amazing to witness. Plus, you're just a delightful human being and I'm happy to share this space with you.

you have single-handedly convinced me to check out the murderbot books - i find it so compelling as you write it, and it's such an interesting (and heartbreaking!) view into that world. I also really enjoy and respect your interest in and feelings around non-shippy rp - I know sex and romance really dominate the fandom space but one of the things that makes df so fun to me are all the important platonic and complex relationships. also, as everyone else has said, you're EXTREMELY funny

I've been enjoying your characters so much! Annie is heartbreaking, Temeraire is incredibly charming, and I've been loving how you're developing Enjolras' emotional arc.

First of all, I think you're such a funny and interesting person, and I love hearing your ideas (and you're also a very kind and caring friend!). I find both of your characters so likable! I love Mothwing's practical no-nonsense old lady vibes, and it's impossible not to root for Tally. You've done a great job with two very different personalities.

Your Lancelot is absolutely phenomenal--your character concept for him is so beautifully informed by your familiarity with the source material and your clear experience with unpicking his psyche several times over, and yet I love seeing how he keeps surprising you. His characterization develops and adapts as a result of his interactions, and that means his choices are always both interesting and surprising but also deeply grounded in the choices he's made before. You also have a beautiful way of writing physicality, whether it's in a fight or an intimate scene; I always feel Lancelot's weight and solidity, and that just makes his emotional presence all the more strongly felt.

I don't know Nightingale's source material, but you've really won me over with your portrayal. He comes across like this reserved and sensible gentleman, and then he has moments of silliness or vulnerability that bring so much heart to the character. And I loved the piece you wrote for Visitor Day!

omggg thank you so much for doing all the plots with me that we've done! I really appreciate how continually game you are to throw our characters at each other against their wills, and it's always a thrill for me when it happens because I know it's going to be a juicy and well-written thread. Claudius is so fleshed out, I think we all feel like he is a real person that we know. And in my case, a real person I only get to talk to once a month because he doesn't get along with my other friends. But it's always a special treat. (As a side note, Claudius greeting Mothwing sticks in my mind as an especially charming moment.)

You absolutely nail every character you take on, and your prose is descriptive and evocative in a way that feels effortless (though I'm sure it isn't). All of your characters feel so much like themselves that every tag feels both surprising and inevitable. Like, it's fresh and exciting, but also oh of course that's what that character would say! I've especially loved Laertes' journey to learn magic—the descriptions of his lessons with Nightingale are always fascinating. I also really appreciate your kindness, and of course your dedication to spreadsheets.

I love your Lancelot! There's something about him that's just so endearing. I remember when he first turned up, and a lot of puppets immediately thought he was a jerk, but over time many got to know him and appreciate him. That's a journey I as a typist have been able to take along with the puppets—learning more about Lancelot, understanding why he comes across the way he does, and eventually seeing his big tender heart. It's been delightful.

The clear enthusiasm you have towards each of your puppets shines through so hard it's impossible not to love, even on those occasions when they're being just impossible (*coughbinkycough*). Each of them are so very resolutely themselves and it's been such a ball to watch each of them around and doing their thing!

Your character writing is exquisite, your ideas are SO funny and your energy is infectious! With all of your characters, you've been able to imagine rich lives for them beyond the source material, making their arcs your own. I especially loved working on the Susan and Lucy piece with you!

You do a great job with all three of your characters, but I want to particularly highlight Grantaire. It's hard writing a character who's meant to be "a wit" and make him actually witty, clever and surprising, not to mention sympathetic and sweet and lovable. His conversations with Sagramore are some of the most entertaining (and surely the longest) threads.

okay, so real talk! when you invited me to df, i was pretty seriously struggling with maintaining adult friendships and feeling a sense of community ... you know, like a lot of thirty-something millennials with pandemic stress and adhd during a time where a major social media platform was exploding and splintering in a dozen tinier platforms. but then you came along and asked me to play with you and your friends, like the bravest kid on the playground. i'm so grateful you did. it's really restored my feeling of community, in a space with so much shared joy and creativity and support for each other's passions. and you made that space possible.

also, completely unexpectedly, we got to collaborate on one of the truest examples of modern friendship: anthony janthony crowley and claudius joy fromhamlet. so proud of us. thank you for everything~

I'm sooooo SOOOO glad you're here to play with me! I love all of DF, but it would lose something special to me if Shen Yuan weren't here. Every time we don't have a current Bingqiu thread I'm like... "but why no Bingqiu........." and then every time we DO it goes places I could never have predicted. I also just love your portayal of SY so much, I instantly hit "track" on any of his posts because I enjoy his interactions with every character. And I've been loving your Gideon, and seeing you get to play with a character who's a bit looser and doesn't overthink as much. I'll never forget the BL pollen <3

Your portrayal of Aleks has taken such a journey from Yuri the Mild-Mannered Cartographer! You've portrayed his conflicted emotions so sensitively and effectively. And I loved Baghra.
